Like the arteries of the body, rivers carry the life blood of the land and range from gentle placid streams to raging torrents. Civilizations grew up on their banks, explorers through history sought their sources and even today the modern city bred flock to them for peace and recreation.

Rivers are watercourses that drain the land and depending on their size and location may be known by many names including creeks, streams and brooks. The largest rivers drain huge tracts if land, the most notable being the Nile of Africa and the Amazon of South America.

Modern man utilizes these fascinating tributaries for fishing, canoeing, whitewater rafting and tubing. He still sets up camps on the banks and the cool clear freshwater slakes his thirst and has adapted to life on the river. A river trip by canoe or raft can carry him through virgin forests, filled with wildlife and nature and deliver him back to his roots.

Female role models is a very difficult concept. There are women who live life doing the right thing all the time and keep to themselves. There are women who do immature things and bother everyone. A female role model should be a great civilian and very caring. A female role model to me is someone who looks out for family. My mom was raised to believe that more is better so that’s what she knows best.

My mom was raised in a good time but also in a bad time. My mom is one of the types of people who likes when others are doing well. But gets jealous when others have way more then her. My mom is a great female role model and just like everyone else, sometimes she looses her way. My mom is going to college to be a teacher, because she has a great passion for kids.

Tenants from hell

Tenants from hell is a saying which, for many landlords and neighbours, is true. Not all tenants pay their rent on time, cause few problems, and leave the home in a fit state when they vacate it. On the odd occasion it has been known for a new tenant to move into a home with good intent, then completely change their minds. Some tenants move into a property with the intention of not paying the rent the next time it is due. By the time the landlord has gone to the courts to evict them, over six months has gone by. This results in a loss of six months rental income for the landlord, eviction charges, and all legal costs. After this, the landlord enters his property to find all furniture either missing or damaged, the white good have disappeared, and the home now needs to be fumigated and re-plastered.

Of all the beautiful settings for a garden, a water garden is possibly the most beautiful of all. Water gardens are any landscape or architectural element that is the home to aquatic plants such as the water lily, the bladderwort and the water lettuce. Water gardens may also include a variety of beautiful fish along with it’s ornamental aquatic plants. Even though, by definition, a water garden can be any depth, they are usually small and pretty shallow because most aquatic plants are very sensitive and need to be placed in a certain level of water in order to thrive.

Whether you want it to be a focal point or just another of the many pieces that make up your garden, a water garden will make a lovely edition to any garden or landscaped yard.

Electronic gadgets are so hot right now. The hottest gadgets range from small portable cell phones with qwerty keyboards that can do just about everything a small laptop can do, to the smallest net-book computers. There are Nooks and Kindles that are aiming to take the place of actual paper books with virtual E- books. The Nook and Kindle can actually hold thousands of books that you can take virtually anywhere due to the great amount of storage in the portable device. Of course lets not forget the the Apple products; I-Phone, I-pod Touch, and I-Pad.

It never ceases to amaze me that all it takes is a little hype and a great ad campaign and these different gadgets instantly become the next greatest thing. The average person is dying to have the next greatest gadget to show off to anyone that will listen and take a look with envy.

Dictators of Evil

Throughout human history, there have been those exceptionally evil individuals who lusted after power and control. Their greed was insatiable. We call these evil psychopaths “world dictators”. History is full of dictators, from the Caesars of Rome, to Alexander the Great of Greece, to Napoleon of France. Communist Russia had their evil world dictator in the form of Stalin. Millions of innocent people were murdered under the iron rule of Stalin. Probably the most famous world dictator was Hitler in Nazi Germany. Concentration camps were set up under the Nazis to exterminate the helpless Jews. Fortunately, the Allies finally defeated Hitler in 1944, and liberated the Jews from the Nazi death camps. Dictators still exist today, although on a somewhat smaller scale, such as the warlords of Africa and Southeast Asia. Dictators eventually fall, as their evil consumes them.

Chinese culture is among the oldest in existence. The architecture of buildings is among the most astounding beauties in China. Chinese architecture date back some 2,000 years. Architecture is considered the hallmark of Chinese culture. The architecture of China shows an emphasis on symmetry. The symmetry represents balance in Chinese culture. Unlike architecture, Chinese gardens focus on asymmetrical designs. This represents flow. Most architecture today have an open yard surrounding the buildings. If a complex is built, the most important residence will face the front of the property. The back of the property is reserved mainly for the elderly. In China, the wealthy concentrate more on width of a home. Chinese beleive that homes that have a large width are more visually appealing. Anyone with a musician in their midst knows instinctively they are in the company of very unique individuals. Perhaps, at the moment of conception, the neo-natal musician yet to be born is already tapping out unborn musical notes and chords. Parents hoping for a musically-inclined child need look no further than their own infant’s demeanor from birth. The future musician adapts easily to self-discipline at a very early age. Their concentration is slightly more focused, intense even. By the time their fingers are ready for guitar, piano or other musical instruments, they’ve developed a love for rhythm and sound.

A singular piece of music has been known to move individuals to tears or from a state of depression to contentment. Music truly feeds the soul. Music connects people all over the world as no other vessel of communication can. This shows the power of music.

He first started to dabble in art when he was only 12, attending drawing school and soon after discovering modern art. Big Brother’s producers really out did themselves with the show. It is among one of the best reality shows that is on the air. The only thing that would make the show better is if the showed aired more often. It is going to interesting to see what the players of the show this season will bring. One can only hope they will be fun, witty and devious as the past players. The only thing we can do is keep our fingers crossed until the show airs. One thing is for sure, there will be millons of people glued to the TV set the day the show airs.

Astrology – A Skeptics Surpsise

I was 18 years old. I was an atheist, skeptical and considered astrology to be ridiculous. I was attending a town festival when a wizened woman approached my friends and I. She told my friend that he must be a Leo. His jaw dropped. He was a Leo. She talked with our group and one by one she was able to tell what sign each of us were. We were amazed. She explained that it was not so mysterious. She explained that in the way that people from a certain area had the same habits and attitudes people of the same sign shared traits as well.

After that I started to tune in to what friends of the same sign had in common. Before long I could pick out a person’s sign easier than I could guess their ethnicity! I can’t deny that it works but I don’t know why.

Eco living can help the environment and your finances at the same time. If you waste less, you spend less. This is especially true with food. Having fresh fruit and vegetables spoil before eating them costs money and adds to the landfill. Correct storage can help reduce waste.

If you store onions and potatoes near each other, both will spoil faster because of the gases they emit.

A cut onion lasts longer if you don’t remove the root end. Just wrap in a paper towel, place in plastic bag and refrigerate.

When bananas start to get too ripe, peel them, break them into chunks and freeze to use for smoothies or baking.

Save extra green pepper by freezing in chunks: great for chopping to use in casseroles or chili later.

Cilantro and parsley keep better if the stems are freshly cut and then placed in glass of water when refrigerated.

Others may live in the city or suburbs, and so will have to modify their garden to a smaller space. There are soil conditions to consider, as well as the availability of water. Gardens take a LOT of water! Different types of plants do well in different sorts of climates. If you get a lot of sun, then tomatoes will work for you. Cold climates will grow your root crops better, such as carrots. Plan your garden design carefully, because it is very difficult to change once the garden is thriving. Happy gardening!

The Oceans of the world are vast and dangerous, yet fascinating and mysterious. Parts of the water world that mankind has still yet to conquer, as it is so deep, but yet we can reach the moon. The Oceans have provided man with a food source since the dawn of time, and now it is dwindling in fish stocks and may not be a viable food source in the future. The largest creature ever to grace this Earth is the Blue Whale. This magnificent creature tours the oceans whilst scientists swim nearby to discover its’ mating habits.

Many sea stories of old describe sea monsters of all descriptions. Octopus over 200 feet in length are meant to rise from the depths of the ocean to feast on sailors and their old wooden boats. Giant squid, allegedly, have taken thousands of ships to their doom beneath the waves.

For example, there are the “hard” styles of Karate, Taekwondo, Kenpo, and many others, including mixed martial arts (MMA). Then there are the “soft” styles, such as Judo, Aikido, and Kung Fu. The hard styles are more appropriate for young people who like to be very aggressive. The softer styles may be more appropriate for senior citizens and women. Motor Cars And Their Many Uses

Motor cars as we know them have been credited to Henry Ford but way before their invention a steam powered unit was designed in China around 1672. This model was a toy for the Chinese Emperor and did not have a driver. It was the idea that counted and no one is sure if the inventors ever tried to make a steam powered car that was capable of passenger travel.

Many years later motor cars became the way to travel. Even with the invention of the air plane a motor car is still needed to get to the airport and to the hotel. Motor cars have come along way since their early invention but they have seemed to with stand the test of time.

When you have nothing better to do, try to imagine what a world without motor cars would be like. Just think, how would we get around? Lovers of motor cars as called motorheads.

Cats Zero, Squirrel Seventeen

We had a neighbor who was a cat lover with 17 cats but she only counted adult females. This number of cats caused problems in the neighborhood but one day they provided a lot of entertainment.

When I first noticed what was happening, there were five cats in the tree across the street from me. Usually cats don’t all climb the same tree, so this caught my attention. As I watched, the neighborhood squirrel began taunting one of the cats on the ground and enticed it to climb up the tree. The squirrel backed up the tree and then out on a limb with the cat stalking it. When the squirrel got out to where the limb began to sag, it jumped off and left the cat clinging to a slender, wildly waving branch. Within an hour, the squirrel had enticed all 17 cats into the tree. Yowling and scrabbling, they finally got down safely.
